New Metro Station Domination for Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County

This Summer, commuters, locals and tourists traveling on the Metro in Washington DC will be encouraged to experience a variety of other adventures that are only “an hour away,” courtesy of Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County’s new “takeover” campaign running all throughout the Metro Center station in the heart of District. The Metro Center station has an average of 10,960 riders each day, making it the busiest station in the Metro system.

Herrmann partnered with the team at Visit Annapolis to extend its award-winning, adventure-themed campaign, originally developed by Herrmann in 2022, to target both locals and tourists exploring Washington DC and entice them to consider a day trip or extended stay into the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County area, whether to enjoy some local Chesapeake cuisine, shop and play at Arundel Mills and Live! Casino and Hotel, plan a kayaking adventure, or mark their calendars for upcoming events in the area.

The campaign spotlights a variety of locations and activities across the county through a series of eye-catching images – ranging from the picturesque sunset views in Downtown Annapolis to family adventures in the more northern parts of the county – to showcase the diverse offerings and potential adventures available to visitors. In other words, Annapolis and Anne Arundel County have something for everyone.

Within the Metro Center station, the campaign’s implementation creates an immersive experience, reaching riders at every turn and down every corridor as they walk throughout the station: faregates, floor graphics, LED screens, pillars, columns, escalator banners, posters and dioramas all carry the Visit Annapolis brand messaging that can’t help but be noticed. The first week of the campaign has already produced extremely positive word-of-mouth feedback, making it clear that the “Adventure” messaging resonates with viewers.
